ASP Eno Ikoedem has officially resumed duty as the new Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Edo State Police Command, following her recent appointment.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Monday by the Administrative Officer in the Police Public Relations Unit, ASP Emmanuel Nyokema.
According to the statement, Ikoedem’s substantive appointment followed the approval of her posting by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
“Until her appointment, Ikoedem served as Deputy PRO to two consecutive spokespersons,” Nyokema said.
He added that she is the first female officer to be appointed as PRO of the Edo State Police Command, describing the development as a major milestone for policing and public engagement in the state.
“She resumed duty on Monday,” the statement confirmed.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ikoedem is a graduate of the Nigeria Police Academy, where she completed the five-year training programme and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English. She is also currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
Nyokema noted that her academic background and professional experience place her in a strong position to advance the command’s communication strategy.
“She has also served in a range of operational and administrative roles across divisions in the state,” he added.
The administrative officer urged residents who require clarification, support, or information from the police to reach her through the official communication channels provided by the command.
ASP Ikoedem officially takes over from Moses Yamu.
