Turkish football pundit Emre Bol has described Nigerian international Victor Osimhen as being too good for the Turkish Super Lig, following another impressive performance by the Galatasaray striker.
Bol made the remarks after Osimhen scored twice to inspire Galatasaray to a 2-1 victory over their Istanbul rivals, Fenerbahçe, in a highly anticipated league encounter on Monday.
The Nigerian forward scored both goals in the first half, giving Galatasaray a comfortable advantage before the break and putting his side in a strong position to secure all three points.
The match took place at Rams Park, Galatasaray’s home ground, where the hosts demonstrated their attacking strength against one of their biggest domestic rivals.
Osimhen opened the scoring in the 29th minute before finding the net again in the 44th minute. His two goals gave Galatasaray a 2-0 lead going into half-time.
Fenerbahçe attempted to respond in the second half and reduced the deficit through İrfan Can Kahveci.
However, Galatasaray maintained its defensive organisation during the closing stages and held on to secure the victory.
The result also helped the club return to the top of the Turkish Super Lig table.
Emre Bol Highlights Osimhen’s Influence
Speaking on the SporON YouTube channel, Bol praised Osimhen’s ability to influence important matches and described him as a player capable of making a significant difference to a team’s performance.
The pundit suggested that the Nigerian striker’s contribution goes beyond scoring goals because of the impact he has on opposition defenders and the overall attacking structure of his team.
According to remarks reported by Turkish football publication Habersarikirmizi, Bol said Osimhen was too good for the Turkish league and described him as a player who could leave a lasting mark on matches.
His comments reflect the growing attention surrounding the Nigerian striker since his arrival in Turkish football.
Osimhen initially joined Galatasaray on loan from Italian side Napoli in September 2024 before completing a permanent move in July 2025.
Since then, he has become one of the club’s most influential attacking players.
An Impressive Record in Turkey
Osimhen enjoyed an outstanding first full season in Turkey.
He scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions as Galatasaray won both the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.
His league performances also earned him the Golden Boot after he finished the campaign with 26 goals.
The Nigerian forward’s ability to deliver in important matches has strengthened his reputation among supporters and football observers.
His physical strength, movement, finishing ability and determination make him a difficult opponent for defenders.
Osimhen has also continued to contribute in European competitions.
He scored during Galatasaray’s 4-2 Champions League victory over Lille on October 21, before producing his two-goal performance against Fenerbahçe five days later.
These performances have further demonstrated his importance to the club’s ambitions.
Importance to Galatasaray
Galatasaray’s rivalry with Fenerbahçe is among the most closely followed fixtures in Turkish football.
Matches between both clubs attract significant attention because of their historical rivalry and influence on the domestic title race.
Winning such encounters can provide a psychological advantage, particularly when the league season reaches important stages.
Osimhen’s brace therefore represents more than an individual achievement. It also strengthens Galatasaray’s position in the competition and reinforces the importance of having a reliable goalscorer.
For Nigerian football supporters, his performances continue to provide positive international attention for the country.
The striker remains one of Nigeria’s most prominent football exports, and his achievements at club level contribute to the visibility of Nigerian players in European football.
Although Bol’s comments are an opinion rather than an official assessment of the league, they underline the level of admiration Osimhen has attracted.
As the season continues, attention will remain on whether the Nigerian forward can maintain his scoring form and help Galatasaray defend its domestic success while competing in Europe.
