Ethiopian Airlines Group, Africa’s leading carrier, has signed a strategic agreement with Nucore Technologies, a software solutions company specialised in back-office automation, integration, reporting and analytics for travel agencies, online travel platforms and corporate customers.

The collaboration represents a major step in Ethiopian Airlines’ digital transformation journey and positions the airline’s B2B segment as a core strategic growth area. The partnership will provide travel agencies, OTAs, aggregators and corporate clients with smarter tools and seamless integration into the airline’s direct content ecosystem.

Through the deal, partners will gain improved access to Ethiopian Airlines’ inventory using NDC-enabled distribution, out-of-the-box system integrations and enhanced data transparency. The initiative aligns the airline with global industry standards in modern retailing and reinforces its leadership in digital aviation innovation.

Strengthening Global B2B Capabilities

Ethiopian Airlines has increasingly prioritised technology-driven distribution to empower its global partners. The agreement with Nucore Technologies is expected to modernise internal processes and deliver scalable platforms designed to support future market expansion.

Commenting on the partnership, ET Holiday & Digital/GCIC Sales A/Vice President, Bilen Arefaine, said the airline remains committed to building a connected and future-ready ecosystem.

“Ethiopian Airlines is steadfast in its commitment to driving digital transformation across its services. This partnership with Nucore Technologies further strengthens our digital presence by enabling our partners to gain seamless access to Ethiopian Airlines’ direct content, including NDC-based offers, ancillary services, and hotel packages, all supported by multiple payment options through our Agency Portal. Ethiopian Airlines will continue to lead the industry in digital transformation through NDC adoption and close collaboration with industry leaders to build a connected, future-ready distribution ecosystem,” Arefaine remarked.

Agency Portal at the Centre

Ethiopian Airlines’ Agency Portal stands at the heart of the collaboration. The robust platform currently supports over 2,000 active customers across more than 100 stations worldwide, providing extensive global reach and market coverage.

The portal is backed by 24/7 commercial and technical support, ensuring partners receive timely assistance for operational and business needs. Integration with Nucore Technologies will further enhance the platform by delivering more sophisticated reporting, analytics and automation features.

Officials say the improved portal will allow travel partners to better manage bookings, access ancillary products and process transactions using multiple payment channels, ultimately improving customer experience and sales efficiency.

Driving the Future of Retailing

The aviation industry is rapidly evolving toward digital retail models, and Ethiopian Airlines aims to remain ahead of the curve. By embracing NDC technology and advanced analytics, the airline seeks to deepen collaboration with partners and unlock new revenue streams in the B2B space.

The partnership with Nucore Technologies is therefore seen as a forward-looking investment that will strengthen Ethiopian Airlines’ competitive position and accelerate innovation across its global network.
