Concerned by the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic, lack of access to healthcare in rural communities and its ravaging effect on infant mortality, Badore Health Centre Medical team has embarked on free Medical care to Langbansa community and its environs.
The Medical supervising officer Chew Oyerinde Raphael, said that the house to house visit is to offer support for children, nursing mothers and families at Lagbansa community Lekki Lagos.
She added that the community project is also aimed at enlightening the people on the vaccine in order to reduce the scourge of premature deaths, pains, and sufferings.
Health Experts say high mortality issues ,causes and challenges before and after pregnancy ” have been identified as causes of maternal death in sub- Saharan African Country including Nigeria where women and children are vulnerable in the society.
In a similar visit to Addo Primary Health Center, a nurse who chose to remain anonymous disclosed that the hospital is open to all children and families who missed treatment and missed the house to house vaccination exercise.
She added that a large number of people have taken the COVID 19 vaccine for their safety, efficiency and productivity, however, many more are yet to collect the COVID 19 dosages. According to the Nigeria center for disease and control (NCDC) people are warned to strictly adhere to the safety protocol
Mrs Iyabo Bakole, aged 50, and a beneficiary of COVID-19 vaccine, said Government needs to pay attention to the health of her citizenry by increasing the budget for health annually, invest in medical infrastructure, invest in medical training facilities, create conducive environment for research and development especially after the COVID lessons.
