The Lagos State Government is set to convene industry leaders, sustainability professionals, and private sector stakeholders at EcoNexus 3.0, a high-level forum focused on unlocking the financial value of climate and circular economy initiatives.

The event, themed “Beyond Compliance: Monetising Climate and Circular Actions for Industries,” will take place on March 24, 2026, in Victoria Island.

According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy, Titilayo Oshodi, the forum is designed to help organisations move beyond regulatory compliance and begin to extract measurable economic value from their sustainability efforts.

“EcoNexus 3.0 introduces a new dimension to the conversation by spotlighting an area many organisations have historically overlooked: the ability to translate sustainability and climate actions into measurable economic and financial value,” Oshodi said.

She explained that while many companies are already implementing initiatives such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, recycling, and responsible sourcing, the financial benefits embedded in these actions are often underutilised.

Through the forum, participants will explore practical strategies for integrating climate responsibility with profitability, while also gaining insights into tools that help measure and optimise environmental performance.

A key highlight of the event will be the introduction of DecarbonIQ, a platform designed to help organisations track carbon emissions and manage their circularity footprint more effectively.

Oshodi noted that the initiative forms part of the broader efforts of the Office of Climate Change and Circular Economy to equip industries with actionable sustainability solutions.

The forum will also feature a dedicated session on opportunities for women within the sustainability and circular economy sectors, aligning with global conversations around International Women’s Day. The session aims to highlight the increasing role of women in shaping Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) leadership across industries.

EcoNexus 3.0 is part of Lagos State’s wider strategy to strengthen collaboration between government and the private sector, as the state positions itself as a leader in climate action and circular economy innovation in Africa.

The invitation-only event is expected to attract top executives, sustainability experts, and policymakers who will examine practical pathways for aligning environmental responsibility with long-term business profitability.
