The National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) has successfully concluded all its zonal elections, held statutorily ahead of its Elective Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Oversight of the elections was conducted by the second national deputy president and electoral committee chairman, Dr. Dagunduro Tukumbo. In the Eastern Zone, headquartered in Port Harcourt, Muhammad Salisu emerged unopposed as vice president, alongside other unopposed officers including Kabiru Yahaya Sulaiman (Zonal Secretary), Farouk Aliyu (Public Relations Officer), Alhaja Sara Sani Umar (Internal Auditor), Aminu Bala Bayero (Treasurer), and Mustapha Zakariya (Zonal Financial Secretary).
In the Western Zone, covering six states in the South West with headquarters in Ibadan, the elected officers sworn in included Olaleye Abiodun Ajibade (Vice President), Olatundun Olumide (Zonal Secretary), Akintola Opeyemi (Treasurer), Adegboyega Olufemi Peters (Financial Secretary), Temitope Ogunsebikan (Internal Auditor), and Adewale Dada (Public Relations Officer).
The Federal Capital Territory Zone returned Angela Ike as vice president, Abdullahi Mansour (Internal Auditor), Adewale Adejumoke (Treasurer), Basirat Gbemisola Okunola (Financial Secretary), Chinenyenwa Nnamuchi (Zonal Secretary), and Joy Ogonna (Public Relations Officer).
Dr. Yinka Folami expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the elections, highlighting that NANTA has a history of managing its electoral and administrative processes without rancor. He encouraged the association’s more than 3,000 members nationwide to attend the AGM scheduled for April in Ibadan.
