The 4th CHINET Aviacargo Conference, West Africa’s premier air cargo event, will take place in Lagos on August 22, hosted by ATQNEWS LTD. This year’s conference will bring together a distinguished lineup of industry leaders from aviation, cargo businesses, insurance, and regulatory bodies.
The event will be graced by Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, the Insurance Commissioner, who will serve as a Special Guest. His participation underscores the importance of the insurance sector in the aviation industry. The conference will also feature prominent insurance professionals, including Chief Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja, former Chairman of the African Insurance Brokers Association; Mr. Eddie Efekoha, GMD of Consolidated Hallmark Holdings; Mr. Dayo Arowojolu, MD of Unitrust Insurance Co. Ltd.; Mr. Moruf Apampa, CEO of NSIA Insurance; and Mr. Babajide Fajemirokun, MD/CEO of AIICO Insurance Plc.
Mr. Eddie Efekoha will lead a discussion on the relationship between airlines and insurance, joined by fellow experts Mr. Fajemirokun, Mr. Apampa, and Ms. Omowale Olatunde-Agbeja. This session aims to explore the critical intersections between aviation operations and insurance coverage.
Capt. Chris Najomo, Acting DG of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), will address aviation regulations pertinent to air cargo. Additionally, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, MD of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), along with the new Directorate of Cargo Development Services, will highlight FAAN’s role in enhancing Nigeria’s air cargo capabilities.
The conference will also feature insights from Capt. Ed Boyo, CEO of Nigeria’s most successful airline, who will share his experiences with attendees. The aviation panel will be moderated by Olumide Ohunayo, General Secretary of Aviation Round Table, with Dr. Alex Nwuba, President of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Nigeria, among the panelists.
Dr. Daniel Mckorley, Chairman of MCDAN Aviation Ghana, will deliver the keynote address. Other key presentations will include:

– George Uriesi, COO of Ibom Air, discussing the role of airlines in air cargo development.
– Capt. John Ojikutu, exploring domestic air cargo opportunities in Nigeria.

Additional sessions will cover export integrity and security, led by Nkechi Onyeso, CEO of Pathfinders, with contributions from NAFDAC and the Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services (NAQS) on maintaining export product integrity. The roles of freight forwarders NAGAFF and APFFLON in advancing the air cargo sector will also be examined.
