The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo, has congratulated Muslims nationwide on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the conclusion of Ramadan and a month of fasting.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Soludo urged Nigerians to embrace love, tolerance, and unity, highlighting that Eid-el-Fitr provides an opportunity for spiritual reflection and the strengthening of community bonds.
“As you celebrate, remember that it is about spreading true love and genuine happiness. Let someone around you smile because of you. Let love, kindness and oneness lead. Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones,” she said.
The First Lady, who is also the founder of the non-governmental organisation Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, noted that the festival fosters generosity and joy through communal prayers, charity, family visits, and the exchange of gifts.
She added that Eid serves as a reminder that love, sacrifice, and tolerance remain the foundation of harmony and peaceful coexistence.
Recently, Soludo also celebrated mothers across Nigeria, describing motherhood as a “divine responsibility” whose value cannot be measured materially. In a statement marking Mothering Sunday on March 15, she emphasised that no gift or expression of love could equal the worth of motherhood.
