Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has addressed rumours linking him romantically with actress and reality star Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, popularly known as Bambam.
The speculation emerged after the two appeared together in a film, with some social media users alleging that their on-screen chemistry had affected Bambam’s marriage.
Actor dismisses relationship rumours
Speaking in an interview with BBC Igbo, Arukwe strongly denied the claims, stressing that his relationship with Bambam was strictly professional.
According to the actor, he was mindful of her marital status while filming scenes that required physical contact.
“Before I touched her, I asked her if there was any way I could touch her that her husband wouldn’t like or that might cause problems at home,” he said.
Professional boundaries on set
Arukwe explained that he deliberately discussed boundaries with Bambam before performing intimate scenes to ensure there would be no misunderstandings.
He emphasized that he did not want any action during filming to jeopardize her marriage.
First meeting during filming
The actor also revealed that the movie set was the first time he had ever met Bambam.
Despite this, he said rumours quickly spread online suggesting the pair were romantically involved.
“That movie was the first time I had ever met her. But people started saying we slept together and were dating, which was completely false,” he added.
Arukwe’s comments come as public discussions continue about the blurred lines between on-screen roles and real-life relationships in the entertainment industry.
