The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set to convene an emergency meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, following the fallout from a court ruling that nullified the party’s 2025 National Convention.
The meeting comes after the Court of Appeal upheld an earlier judgment which invalidated the PDP’s National Convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025.
According to a notice obtained by our correspondent, the meeting will take place at 2 p.m. at No. 1, Sabo Ago Street, LifeCamp, Abuja. The notice was signed by the BoT Chairman, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa.
“This serves to formally invite all members of the Board of Trustees of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, to a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 2 p.m. Venue is 1, Sabo Ago Street, LifeCamp, Abuja,” the notice stated.
Ohuabunwa explained that the meeting was convened by the party’s Board of Trustees and is recognised by the party’s current caretaker leadership.
He added that the BoT involved in the meeting is the only body recognised by the party’s leadership led by the Abdulrahman/Anyanwu-led National Caretaker Working Committee, in line with the Federal High Court decision and its subsequent affirmation by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
“Note that this is the only BoT recognised as constituted by the Abdulrahman/Anyanwu-led National Caretaker Working Committee pursuant to the Federal High Court decision and ratified by the Court of Appeal in Abuja,” Ohuabunwa said.
The BoT chairman also cautioned party members against responding to any other invitations claiming to convene a Board of Trustees meeting.
“Kindly ignore any other notice purporting to call for a meeting of the BoT,” the notice warned.
He further stressed that participation in the meeting would be restricted strictly to duly notified members of the Board of Trustees.
Ohuabunwa said only accredited BoT members would be allowed access to the meeting venue, advising non-members to stay away.
Political observers say the meeting is expected to address the implications of the court ruling and chart a path forward for the party amid growing internal tensions.
