The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dennis Otuaro, has commended the visit of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to the Warri Kingdom in Delta State, describing it as a complementary boost to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s development agenda.
Otuaro, speaking on Thursday, congratulated the First Lady on her one-day visit, saying her presence would further strengthen initiatives aimed at sustainable peace, security, and development in the Niger Delta.
He emphasized that the First Lady embodies national peace and unity — key pillars of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda — and praised her humanitarian efforts through the Renewed Hope Initiative, which supports vulnerable Nigerians nationwide.
“The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator (Chief) Oluremi Tinubu, is a kind and empathetic leader, and it takes a generous heart to be able to do the good things Her Excellency is doing to uplift humanity through her Renewed Hope Initiative,” Otuaro said.
He further noted that the initiative aligns with Oborevwori’s Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security (MORE) agenda, aimed at strategic development of Delta State, and described her visit as a memorable milestone for residents.
Since assuming office in March 2024, Otuaro said the PAP has deployed over 9,000 students to universities within and outside Nigeria for industry-relevant courses, highlighting the programme’s role in fostering education, skills development, and empowerment.
Established in 2009 to address militancy in the Niger Delta, the Presidential Amnesty Programme has evolved into a vehicle for peace, education, and economic empowerment in the oil-rich region.
