Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inaugurated Local Government Renewed Hope Coordinators across the state as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement and raise public awareness of national programmes.
The ceremony, held at the 10 Degrees Events Centre, Oregun, Ikeja, saw coordinators drawn from all 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) officially sworn in. Governor Sanwo-Olu described the initiative as an activation platform aimed at informing citizens about government policies and achievements, emphasising that it is not a political campaign.

“This is not a campaign rally. This is an activation of what we believe in and a commitment to informing citizens about government programmes and promises being fulfilled,” the governor said.
The coordinators are expected to take awareness campaigns to communities, wards, and polling units, acting as a link between government policies and the grassroots. To support their operations, each coordinator will receive a brand new vehicle for community mobilisation.
Highlighting federal achievements, Sanwo-Olu noted progress in infrastructure development, economic stabilisation, foreign direct investment, social welfare initiatives, currency stabilisation, and implementation of a new minimum wage for workers.
Renewed Hope Ambassador Tayo Ayinde described the inauguration as a strategic civic engagement platform, operating through a coordinated national framework led by Director-General Governor Hope Uzodimma. He urged coordinators to disseminate information on national programmes across markets, campuses, and communities.
Dignitaries at the event included Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, members of the National Assembly, Lagos State Executive Council members, party leaders, traditional rulers, and stakeholders from across the Southwest.
The initiative is expected to expand to all 57 local governments and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State, further strengthening citizen engagement and public awareness of national reforms.
