He reiterated his administration’s ambition to position LASU among the top 10 universities in the world, noting that the university’s improved ranking reflects the Lagos State Government’s commitment to creating a thriving academic environment.
Sanwo-Olu said the university’s success was driven by visionary leadership, dedicated lecturers, and hardworking students, all supported through the THEMES Plus Agenda, which prioritises education funding and technological advancement.
According to the JAMB ranking, University of Lagos (UNILAG) came second with 78,240 applicants, while Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) ranked third with 60,370 applicants.
University of Ibadan and University of Benin followed in fourth and fifth positions with 58,895 and 55,425 applicants respectively.
