The Kano State Police Command has announced plans for intensified security operations and extensive community engagement in Gobirawa, Tudun Fulani and neighbouring communities as part of efforts to tackle thuggery-related clashes and strengthen peace across the affected areas.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, made this known on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, when he received a coalition of community-based associations from Gobirawa, Tudun Fulani Wards and surrounding communities at the Command Headquarters in Bompai, Kano.
The meeting focused on security and social challenges affecting residents, as well as the need for stronger cooperation between law enforcement agencies and community stakeholders.
The delegation was led by the Chairman of the coalition, Alhaji Salisu Adamu Chiroma.
Representatives from Cinema, Gangare, Karshen Kwalta, Rijiyar Lemo, Layin Falwaya, Kurna Asabe, Tudun Fulani and other neighbouring communities were also part of the delegation.
Community Leaders Seek Stronger Police Engagement
Speaking on behalf of the coalition, Chiroma expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for receiving the community representatives.
He commended the efforts of the Kano State Police Command in maintaining law and order across the state, particularly its focus on strengthening community policing.
