Cadbury Nigeria Plc has reported a revenue of N126.69 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, representing a 6 per cent increase from the N119.25 billion recorded during the corresponding period in 2025.

The company disclosed this following the approval of its unaudited financial statements by its Board of Directors, highlighting improvements in revenue, gross profit, profitability and shareholders’ equity despite Nigeria’s challenging operating environment.

According to the company’s financial results, gross profit increased by 32 per cent to N36.50 billion from N27.75 billion in the same period last year.

Profit after tax also rose by approximately 5 per cent to N10.14 billion, compared with N9.68 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025. Profit before tax increased by 5 per cent, from N13.82 billion to N14.48 billion.

The company’s total equity grew by 75.6 per cent, rising from N13.42 billion to N23.56 billion. Basic earnings per share also increased by 5 per cent, from 424 kobo to 445 kobo.

The results reflect improved profitability and stronger gross profit performance during the nine-month period. However, the figures alone do not establish the specific factors responsible for the improvements.

Managing Director Highlights Growth Strategy

Commenting on the financial performance, Cadbury Nigeria’s Managing Director, Ayman Fahmy Gaafar, said the company achieved sustainable growth despite the difficult operating environment in Nigeria.

He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening its operations, improving cost management and developing products that respond to consumers’ needs.

“We will continue to build on our operational capabilities and strengthen cost management measures to enable us to achieve our business objectives and deliver more value for our stakeholders. We are also continuously innovating to meet the needs of the Nigerian consumer,” Gaafar said.

The company’s emphasis on operational efficiency and innovation comes amid continuing pressures on businesses operating in Nigeria, where costs and consumer purchasing power remain important considerations for manufacturers.

For Cadbury Nigeria, maintaining revenue growth while improving profitability will be important as it seeks to sustain its performance and deliver value to shareholders.

Board Appointments Strengthen Corporate Leadership

The financial announcement also follows changes to the company’s board leadership earlier in 2026.

In August, Cadbury Nigeria announced the appointment of Dr. Doyin Salami as its new Chairman, following the resignation of Adedotun Sulaiman.

Salami has held leadership positions on the boards of several companies. He previously served as Chief Economic Adviser to former President Muhammadu Buhari and chaired the Presidential Economic Advisory Council.

The company also appointed Uwa Osa-Oboh as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

Osa-Oboh is an experienced corporate executive who serves as Head of Corporate Development at Capital Alliance Nigeria, a member of the African Capital Alliance Group, an investment management firm operating in Africa.

The appointments form part of the company’s corporate governance developments as it continues to pursue its business objectives and strengthen stakeholder confidence.

Cadbury Nigeria Wins Three CIPM HR OSCARS Awards

Beyond its financial performance, Cadbury Nigeria received recognition for its human resource practices after emerging a top winner at the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria’s HR OSCARS.

The company won awards in three categories: Talent Acquisition, Adoption of Technology, and Employee Engagement and Internal Communication.

It achieved a perfect score of 100 per cent in the Employee Engagement and Internal Communication category, according to the company’s announcement.

The HR OSCARS are organised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria as part of its annual International Conference and Exhibition. The event brings together human resource professionals and organisations to recognise workplace practices and developments in people management.

The awards provide external recognition of organisations’ approaches to attracting talent, using technology in human resource operations and strengthening employee communication and engagement.

For Cadbury Nigeria, the recognition highlights the importance it places on employee experience, workplace culture and aligning people management with its business strategy.

Effective talent acquisition can help organisations attract employees with the skills needed to support growth. Technology adoption can also improve the efficiency of human resource processes, while employee engagement and internal communication can help workers understand organisational goals and contribute to business performance.

The company’s performance in the three categories therefore adds a human resource dimension to its latest corporate results, although the awards do not independently establish the financial impact of those practices.

Part of Mondelēz International

Cadbury Nigeria Plc is a publicly quoted company and a 79.39 per cent-owned subsidiary of Mondelēz International, a global snacking company with operations in more than 150 countries.

Its Nigerian product portfolio includes Bournvita, Hot Chocolate 3 in 1, TomTom, Buttermint and Clorets.

Mondelēz International’s wider portfolio includes global brands such as Oreo, Ritz, LU, Clif Bar, Tate’s Bake Shop, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Milka and Toblerone.

The remaining 20.61 per cent of Cadbury Nigeria’s shares are held by indigenous individual and institutional investors.

The company’s latest results and CIPM awards provide two measures of its performance: financial progress during the first nine months of 2026 and recognition for its approach to people management.

As the company moves into the final quarter of the year, sustaining revenue growth, managing costs and maintaining profitability will remain important considerations for its business performance.
