The Kebbi State College of Health Sciences and Technology has received approval from the National Board for Technical Education to commence seven National Diploma (ND) programmes, marking a historic academic achievement for the institution.
The accredited programmes include ND Public Health Technology, ND Environmental Health Technology, ND Community Health Technology, ND Health Information Management, ND Medical Laboratory Technology, ND Health Education and Promotion, among others.
Chairman of the Governing Council, Alhaji Magaji Abdullahi, announced the development in Birnin Kebbi on Friday, describing it as an “unprecedented moment” in the college’s history.
Abdullahi attributed the achievement to a successful resource verification and advisory visit by the NBTE in December 2025 and praised Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris for prioritising education and institutional development.
He emphasised that the accreditation allows graduates to pursue Direct Entry into Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programmes or continue to Higher National Diploma studies, ensuring students receive recognised qualifications.
Abdullahi urged the college to maintain high standards, recruit qualified staff, and strengthen its organisational framework to secure future accreditations, describing the approval as a legacy achievement and a significant boost to health manpower development in Kebbi State.
