Lagos to Begin Enforcement of E-Call Up System on Lekki-Epe Corridor August 1

The E-Call Up System is expected to bring lasting improvements to traffic flow and logistics operations in one of the state’s busiest industrial and commercial corridors.

The Lagos State Government has announced that enforcement of the E-Call Up System for trucks operating along the Lekki-Epe Corridor will begin on August 1, 2025, following months of strategic planning and stakeholder engagement.

According to a statement released on Tuesday, over 10,000 trucks have already been registered on the system, with more currently being onboarded in preparation for full implementation.

The Ministry of Transportation, in collaboration with E-Call Up Technologies, has implemented several key measures to facilitate a smooth rollout:

  • Reduction of the park usage fee from ₦12,500 to ₦10,000
  • Activation of seven designated truck parks across the corridor, now fully equipped for use
  • Launch of a familiarisation exercise offering free system testing and hands-on training for truck drivers

The initiative is designed to:

  • Streamline truck movements
  • Ease traffic congestion
  • Eliminate illegal parking
  • Improve safety and road infrastructure
  • Boost economic activity in the Lekki-Epe region

“This marks another step toward a smarter and more efficient transportation system in Lagos,” the statement noted.

The government urged all stakeholders—including truck owners, drivers, and logistics operators—to complete registration and cooperate with relevant enforcement agencies to ensure successful implementation.

The E-Call Up System is expected to bring lasting improvements to traffic flow and logistics operations in one of the state’s busiest industrial and commercial corridors.
