US President Donald Trump has said “everything checked out perfectly” after undergoing a medical examination at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday.
Trump, who turns 80 on June 14, disclosed this in a brief post on Truth Social after completing what he described as his routine six-monthly physical examination.
The president, who became the oldest person to assume the US presidency when he began his second term in January 2025, did not provide further details about the results of the examination.
Trump has frequently portrayed himself as more energetic and physically fit than his predecessor, Joe Biden, who left office last year at the age of 82 amid concerns over his fitness for office.
Recent photographs showing a blotchy rash on Trump’s neck have, however, renewed public discussions about his health.
The latest attention follows images published in July 2025 that appeared to show swollen ankles and bruising on one of the president’s hands, which was reportedly concealed with makeup.
Tuesday’s visit to Walter Reed marked Trump’s third medical visit to the facility within 13 months.
Although the president maintains an active golf schedule, he recently joked about his exercise routine during an Oval Office event attended by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr..
Kennedy had remarked that Trump walks nine miles whenever he plays golf.
“When I am not using the cart,” Trump joked.
White House physician Sean Barbabella previously stated that Trump was using a common cream as a “preventative skin treatment” for the neck rash but did not disclose further details about the condition.
Following the release of photographs showing swelling in Trump’s legs and bruising on his hand last July, Barbabella said the issues were benign and that there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt later explained that Trump’s leg swelling was linked to a common vein condition, while the bruising on his hand was caused by frequent handshakes.
Trump also revealed last October that he underwent a magnetic resonance imaging scan as part of another physical examination.
The White House initially declined to explain the reason for the MRI, with Leavitt only stating that the examination showed Trump was in “exceptional physical health.”
The president later defended the scan while speaking to reporters.
“Getting an MRI is very standard. What, you think I shouldn’t have it? Other people get it,” Trump said.
“The doctor said it was the best result he has ever seen as a doctor,” he added.
Medical experts have noted that MRIs are not usually included in standard routine physical examinations and are typically ordered to obtain detailed images of the body.
In a memo released after Trump’s second examination, Barbabella stated that the president’s cardiac age — a measure of cardiovascular vitality assessed through ECG testing — was estimated to be approximately 14 years younger than his actual age.
Trump has also faced scrutiny after appearing to briefly fall asleep during several meetings, including a Cabinet session earlier this year.
Responding to the criticism in February, Trump dismissed suggestions that he had fallen asleep.
“Some people said, he closed his eyes. Look, it got pretty boring,” Trump said jokingly.
“I didn’t sleep. I just closed them because I wanted to get the hell outta here,” he added.
Meanwhile, Biden last year disclosed that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones and later underwent radiation therapy.
