The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced the official screening schedule for aspirants seeking nomination into the Senate, House of Representatives and State Houses of Assembly ahead of the party’s 2026 primary elections.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Sunday in Awka by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara.
According to the party, screening for Senate and House of Representatives aspirants will take place on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the APGA National Headquarters in Abuja.
The screening exercise for aspirants seeking seats in the Anambra State House of Assembly will hold on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the party’s regional office in Awka.
The party stated that both screening sessions will commence at 10:00am prompt.
“All APGA aspirants from Anambra State seeking nomination for national and state Assembly positions in the 2026 primary elections are hereby notified that the screening exercise shall hold as scheduled,” the statement read in part.
The party further directed that only members of the screening committee and duly cleared aspirants will be allowed access to the venues, stressing that supporters, aides, and associates are strictly prohibited from entering the screening locations.
It also required all aspirants to appear in person with the original copies of their highest academic qualifications, noting that photocopies would not be accepted under any circumstance.
The party emphasised that the screening exercise is completely free of charge, warning aspirants against making any payments to individuals or committees in any form.
“APGA screening is free of charge. No aspirant is required to pay or should pay any amount of money to any person or committee under any guise whatsoever,” the statement said.
It added that any demand for payment should be reported immediately to the party’s National Secretariat.
The statement also noted that screening schedules for aspirants from other states outside Anambra will be communicated later through official party channels.
“All aspirants are advised to adhere strictly to the dates, time, and requirements stated above,” Opara added.
The development signals the beginning of formal preparations within the All Progressives Grand Alliance ahead of the 2026 election cycle, as political parties across Nigeria intensify internal processes for candidate selection.
