Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa has called on Kylian Mbappe to continue showing his commitment to the club during the final three matches of the season.

Mbappe has come under criticism from some Real Madrid supporters in recent weeks after travelling to Sardinia during his recovery from a thigh injury.

The French forward missed Madrid’s Clasico defeat to Barcelona on Sunday, a result that confirmed the Catalan side as La Liga champions for the second consecutive season.

The defeat also ensured Real Madrid would end the campaign without a major trophy.

Speaking ahead of Thursday’s league clash against Real Oviedo, Arbeloa said Mbappe could still feature if he proves fit enough in training.

“If he’s there and can complete the training session and is available, then he’ll definitely get some minutes,” Arbeloa told reporters.

The coach added that the remaining fixtures would give Mbappe another opportunity to demonstrate his dedication to the club.

Arbeloa also expressed hope that the France captain would continue scoring goals and helping the team finish the season strongly.

Despite criticism from sections of the fanbase, the Real Madrid coach defended Mbappe’s professionalism and insisted he believes every player in the squad is fully committed.

“All my players give absolutely everything they have for the club,” Arbeloa said.

Mbappe is expected to face intense scrutiny from supporters at the Santiago Bernabeu, where he could be greeted with whistles if selected to play.

The forward remains one of Real Madrid’s leading scorers this season despite injury setbacks and mounting pressure following the club’s disappointing campaign.
