Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Monday called on Donald Trump to intervene and help end the ongoing Middle East war, now entering its second month.
Speaking in Cairo alongside Nikos Christodoulides, Sisi appealed: “No one will be able to stop the war in our region, in the Gulf… Please, help us to stop the war, you are capable of it.” He framed the plea as a call on behalf of humanity and all who love peace.
Egypt was among several Muslim-majority nations whose foreign ministers participated in talks in Pakistan on Sunday, seeking avenues for negotiation and conflict resolution.
The remarks came shortly before Trump issued threats targeting Iran’s electricity infrastructure and Kharg Islandthe only one” capable of ending the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
