Enugu Air, operated by XEJET, has announced the arrival of its newest aircraft, the Embraer 195, marking another milestone in its drive to deliver safe, reliable and efficient air travel services.

The airline disclosed this in a statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer of XEJET, Mr Emmanuel Iza. He described the acquisition as a significant step in the carrier’s growth strategy and long-term vision.

Mr Iza acknowledged the support and commitment of the Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah, noting that his administration’s focus on aviation development continues to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the region.

According to him, the addition of the Embraer 195 underscores Enugu Air’s determination to build a dependable airline that passengers can trust. He added that the carrier plans to introduce additional services in the coming weeks as part of its broader expansion agenda.

Enugu Air is a Nigerian airline owned by the Enugu State Government. It was launched in July 2025 as a state-owned carrier aimed at strengthening regional air connectivity, boosting economic activities and promoting local aviation development. The airline operates from the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu State.

At its official launch on July 7, 2025, Enugu Air commenced commercial operations with three Embraer 170 aircraft, each with a seating capacity of about 76 passengers.

In its early phase, the airline partnered with private carrier XEJET, which holds the necessary regulatory approvals to operate flights on its behalf while Enugu Air completes its Air Operator Certificate application process. Under this arrangement, XEJET is authorised to conduct scheduled domestic flights for Enugu Air, with ticket bookings processed through XEJET’s platform.

The arrival of the Embraer 195 is expected to enhance the airline’s operational capacity and further position Enugu as a growing aviation hub in Nigeria’s South-East region.
