President Bola Tinubu momentarily stumbled on Tuesday during a ceremonial march-past at the parade ground in Türkiye, where he was being received with a guard of honour.
The brief incident drew attention but did not disrupt the planned programme. The President continued with the reception and official engagements without further issues.
Tinubu’s visit aims to strengthen Nigeria-Türkiye relations and explore new areas of cooperation in trade, security, investment, and regional partnerships. He is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and oversee the signing of several memoranda of understanding between the two countries.
A business forum will also take place on the sidelines of the visit, designed to connect Nigerian and Turkish investors and unlock opportunities for mutual economic growth.
Senior Nigerian officials who accompanied the President at his hotel include Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Wale Edun; Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dele Alake; and Minister of Defence General Christopher Musa (rtd).
