President Tinubu Appoints Governor Uzodimma as “Renewed Hope Ambassador”

Imo State Governor to spearhead outreach for Ward Development Programme and promote administration’s agenda nationwide.

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as “Renewed Hope Ambassador” ahead of the nationwide rollout of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.

The appointment, announced on Tuesday by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, gives Uzodimma an expanded role as Director-General for party outreach, engagement, and mobilisation, making him the chief political promoter of the Tinubu administration’s agenda across Nigeria.

“With the appointment, which takes immediate effect, Governor Uzodimma will be responsible, in collaboration with the All Progressives Congress leadership and the governors, for evangelising the Tinubu administration’s programme,” the statement said.

As Renewed Hope Ambassador, Uzodimma, who also chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum, is tasked with ensuring harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination across all levels of the party, working alongside APC governors who will serve as “Ambassadors of Hope.” He will lead efforts to boost grassroots support for the administration’s policies.

The Ward Development Programme, a flagship component of the Renewed Hope agenda, aims to deliver micro-projects, social services, and livelihood support directly to Nigeria’s 8,809 electoral wards.

The Presidency highlighted key achievements of the Tinubu administration, noting that inflation eased for the seventh consecutive month to 16.05 percent in October, foreign reserves rose to over $46 billion, and the exchange rate stabilised. Economic diversification, increased FDI, portfolio investments, a liberalised student loan scheme enrolling over 700,000 students, and faster passport issuance were cited as milestones.

Onanuga added that President Tinubu expects Uzodimma to ensure Nigerians are aware of and understand the administration’s achievements, reinforcing the message of “Renewed Hope” nationwide.
