Venus Williams has suffered her 14th consecutive singles defeat after losing to Colombia’s Emiliana Arango in the first round of the Cincinnati Open.
The 46-year-old American, a former world number one and seven-time Grand Slam singles champion, was beaten 6-2, 6-2 in a match that lasted 66 minutes. Williams entered the tournament with a wild card but was unable to stop her recent losing streak.
