President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister.
In a goodwill message, Tinubu described the achievement as a historic milestone that reflects the confidence and trust the people of India have placed in Modi’s leadership over three consecutive terms in office.
The Nigerian leader commended Modi’s dedication to public service and his commitment to national development, noting that his leadership continues to inspire millions of people across the world.
Tinubu also praised the Indian Prime Minister’s influence on the global stage, describing him as a statesman whose leadership has contributed significantly to India’s growth and international standing.
Beyond official relations, the President highlighted the personal bond he shares with Modi.

Tinubu further acknowledged Modi’s role in strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and India.
He noted that the Indian Prime Minister, who is a recipient of Nigeria’s national honour, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), has made valuable contributions to deepening friendship and cooperation between both nations.
According to the President, the relationship between Nigeria and India has continued to grow through mutual respect, economic collaboration and diplomatic engagement.
On behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria, Tinubu wished Modi good health, wisdom and continued success as he leads India into a new phase of development and progress.
