Senator Ned Nwoko has formally declared his intention to seek re-election to the National Assembly, reaffirming his commitment to continued representation of constituents in Delta North Senatorial District.
He made the declaration on Friday while speaking with journalists at the Asaba International Airport upon his arrival in Asaba.
Nwoko was accompanied by former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, as both received a large welcome from supporters.
The senator described the turnout as evidence of a strong bond between him and the people of Delta North.
He said his legislative work has been driven by efforts to amplify constituents’ voices and address socio-economic challenges in the region.
“The people know me, and I know them. I understand their needs and I am committed to solving their problems,” he said.
Nwoko also pledged support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence in the administration’s ongoing reforms.
On education, the senator disclosed plans to upgrade the Federal College of Education, Asaba, into a federal university, describing the move as key to expanding access to higher education and driving regional development.
He also urged constituents to remain supportive of what he called progressive governance while warning against a return to “old politics.”
On the issue of Anioma State creation, Nwoko aligned himself with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, noting that Akpabio’s position reflects the official stance on the matter.
The senator’s declaration comes as political activities gradually build momentum ahead of future electoral cycles.
