Harriet Dart Secures Spot in Madrid Open Main Draw Alongside Raducanu and Boulter

British tennis player Harriet Dart has earned her place in the main draw of the Madrid Open, joining compatriots Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter in the prestigious tournament.

Dart, 27, clinched victory in her second qualifying match against Russia’s Maria Timofeeva. After dropping the first set, the British number two mounted a comeback to win 4-6, 6-3, 7-5. She is now set to face Spain’s Cristina Bucsa in the first round of the main draw.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Raducanu, who recently made waves in the tennis world with her remarkable performances, is scheduled to play against Argentine qualifier Maria Lourdes Carle in her opening-round match on Wednesday. Raducanu was initially slated to face Karolina Pliskova, but the former world number one withdrew from the tournament due to a wrist injury.

British number one Katie Boulter, 27, will skip the first round and await the outcome of the match between American wildcard Robin Montgomery and Russia’s Elina Avanesyan for her second-round opponent.

In the men’s draw, Britain’s Jack Draper, 22, is set to take on qualifier Thanasi Kokkinakis on Wednesday. However, fellow Briton Dan Evans, 33, has withdrawn from the tournament due to a right calf injury.
