Members of the female Professionals for Sanwo-olu Initiative (FPS) have congratulated the governor on his re-election into office.
According to the ladies who met over the weekend to celebrate the victory of the APC at both presidential and state levels described their journey from the start of the campaigns earlier in the year is one worth celebrating having worked so hard during the the electioneering season.
Barrister Omowunmi described the Elections tough. She said at a point she cried as she saw the tide of events after the presidential election.
”We thank God that Asiwaju and Sanwo-Olu won. But after the Presidential elections I was worried at some point in time. The report I was getting out there especially for Lagos state when we go on our door to door outreach was quite disheartening. All what the Governor was doing and I wondered what was wrong. He is back into office and here we are.”
The ladies led by convener of the FPS initiative Barrister Omowunmi Ogungbaibi met for the first time in what can best be described as a work free zone to celebrate together as they say ‘weldone’ to one another.
The ladies take turns to relate their experiences over the last couple of months sharing the joy of hard work.
First of all, I want to than Omowunmi for the opportunity to be part of the female Professionals for Sanwo-Olu Initiative. She gave us a platform where we have the opportunity to give our quota to the Government, the society, poolitics and much more. For this purpose I encourage us to give her a standiing ovation.”
Although, it was an all women outing, they had the Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora to the Governor Jermaine Sanwo-Olu join them for dinner at the blowfish restaurant Victoria Island Lagos.
”There a lot of things the government is doing for women, for the state and people from around other parts of he Country who have made Lagos their home.
Women as leaders and decision-makers at all levels are critical to advancing economic, social, and political progress in any society. Their participation in politics no doubt goes a long way bringing tangible gains for democracy, and as well sustainable peace. I want encourage you to join the team. There’s women empowerment and poverty alleviation, the ministry of wealth creation that you can join. Feeeel feel to bring your ideas onbaord and together we will move Lagos forward.”
