The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has announced that Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, will perform at the Los Angeles leg of its World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert series scheduled for Wednesday, June 10.
According to a statement released by FIFA on Tuesday, the Los Angeles concert will also feature Diplo’s Major Lazer, with additional artistes expected to be announced in the coming days.
The concert is part of a first-of-its-kind synchronised global music series being staged across the three World Cup host nations — Canada, Mexico and the United States — as part of build-up activities for the 2026 tournament.
“Los Angeles will play host to a high-energy celebration, featuring Diplo’s Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football and culture,” FIFA said.
The event will take place at the Crypto.com Arena, with doors opening at 5:00 p.m. PT and live broadcasts beginning at 6:00 p.m. PT.
FIFA explained that the concert series will connect live performances across multiple cities, including Mexico City and Toronto, creating a unified entertainment experience across the host nations.
According to Manolo Zubiria, FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Tournament Officer for the United States, the initiative is designed to celebrate cultural unity and global excitement ahead of the tournament.
He described the Countdown Concert as a celebration of “passion, unity and cultural connections across three countries and around the world” that define the FIFA World Cup.
Zubiria added that Los Angeles, as one of the world’s premier entertainment hubs, will deliver a major showcase just days before the tournament’s opening match in the United States.
FIFA confirmed that ticket sales for the Los Angeles concert will begin on Wednesday, June 3, at 10:00 a.m. PST.
The concert will also be streamed globally through FIFA’s digital platforms, including a livestream on the FIFA World Cup TikTok account, which will serve as the exclusive social media broadcast partner.
Full performances and behind-the-scenes content will be made available the following day on FIFA’s video-on-demand platform, VuMe Live.
The Countdown Concert series is expected to feature a blend of international artists and football-themed celebrations as part of the global build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
