The daughter of the Charles Soludo, Adaora Soludo, has re-launched her Non-Governmental Organisation, the Gloria Foundation, by awarding scholarships to 10 underprivileged female university students across Anambra State.
The Gloria Foundation was originally launched in 2018 as a non-profit organisation focused on empowering women to become leaders and agents of positive change in society.
The foundation was established in honour of the late Mrs Gloria Uzomaka Ezenwanne, remembered as an educator, disciplinarian, and social advocate who dedicated her life to community development.
The scholarship initiative forms part of the organisation’s Education Support Scheme, a programme designed to provide full tuition support for students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
Speaking during the relaunch event on Tuesday, Adaora Soludo said the initiative serves as a reminder that every young girl deserves support, encouragement, and opportunities to succeed.
She explained that personal life experiences had taught her that many young people only need encouragement and someone who believes in their potential to thrive.
She said, “One of the reasons the Gloria Foundation exists is to create hope, inspire confidence, and support young people, especially girls, in pursuing education and becoming the best version of themselves.
“The scholarship support is a symbol of hope and encouragement, while the sanitary pads, which the students also got, were a reminder that no girl should feel less confident because of a natural part of womanhood.”
Some of the beneficiaries, including Oluchi Okeke, Grace Okonkwo, and Amarachi Ezeukwu, expressed appreciation to the foundation for providing practical support toward their education.
The students said the scholarship programme would greatly strengthen their academic pursuits and give them renewed hope for the future.
