Tensions between Ethiopia and Eritrea are rising after fighting intensified in northern Ethiopia. The two countries have already severed diplomatic ties, and witnesses recently reported seeing Eritrean soldiers inside Ethiopia’s Tigray region.
Ethiopia has accused Eritrea of supporting armed groups fighting its government, while Eritrea has rejected the accusations. There are growing fears that the conflict could develop into a wider regional war involving neighbouring countries.
