The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has retained its International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Training Centre of Excellence (TCE) Platinum Status for the sixth consecutive year, covering the period from 2021 to 2026.

The recognition represents the highest award level under the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Programme, which is reserved for globally accredited training institutions that demonstrate exceptional compliance with ICAO standards.

ICAO awards the Platinum Status only to training centres that consistently meet rigorous global benchmarks in aviation education, safety training, and operational excellence.

With this achievement, NCAT remains among a select group of TRAINAIR PLUS Programme members worldwide that have sustained Platinum-level certification over an extended period.

The college’s continued recognition is attributed to strong institutional leadership, adherence to international best practices, and sustained excellence in both classroom and virtual training delivery.

NCAT authorities described the milestone as a reflection of years of hard work, effective management, and commitment to maintaining global aviation training standards.

The Rector and Chief Executive of NCAT, Dr. Danjuma A. Ismaila, was commended for his leadership role in sustaining the institution’s international accreditation status.

Instructors and resource managers at the college were also recognised for their contribution to maintaining high-quality training standards across all programmes.

Industry stakeholders say the continued Platinum Status reinforces NCAT’s position as one of Africa’s leading aviation training institutions and a key contributor to the development of aviation professionals on the continent.

The achievement is expected to further enhance the college’s reputation in international aviation training circles and strengthen its partnerships within the global aviation industry.
