Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (All Progressives Congress) in Kogi East have declared their support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was contained in a statement issued on Friday by group representative Ibrahim Mohammed, who said the senator’s performance in office had strengthened the APC’s influence across the senatorial district.
According to the stakeholders, Echocho’s developmental projects in education, agriculture, and rural infrastructure have significantly boosted the party’s grassroots appeal.
“We will mobilise massive support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sen Jibrin Isah Echocho,” the statement said.
The group highlighted several constituency projects attributed to the senator, including the donation of school buses, renovation of schools, and distribution of learning materials across Kogi East.
They also cited the provision of farming equipment, financial support for vulnerable residents, and social intervention programmes aimed at improving livelihoods.
In addition, stakeholders pointed to boreholes and electricity transformers installed in several communities, describing them as aligned with the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
They said these initiatives demonstrate tangible governance impact that would form a key part of the APC’s campaign strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.
Senator Echocho represents Kogi East Senatorial District in the National Assembly and is currently serving his second term under the APC platform.
The district, which comprises nine local government areas, remains one of the most politically significant blocs in Kogi State due to its voting strength.
President Tinubu, who assumed office on May 29, 2023, has consistently defended his administration’s economic reforms, including fuel subsidy removal and foreign exchange unification.
While the government says the reforms are necessary for long-term economic stability, they have also contributed to rising living costs, drawing criticism from opposition parties, labour unions, and civil society groups.
Despite these challenges, APC stakeholders in Kogi East expressed confidence that the performance of both the federal and senatorial leadership would translate into electoral success in 2027.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots mobilisation across the district, saying it remains confident of securing victory for the APC in the next general election.
