Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra leak suggests ‘Privacy Display’ could be its biggest upgrade yet

New teaser and leaked screenshots hint at customizable screen protection that blocks side-on viewing.

Samsung has teased its upcoming Privacy Display feature for a second time, and new leaks suggest it could be the standout upgrade on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

While early reports indicate the Galaxy S26 lineup may not bring dramatic design or hardware changes compared to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Privacy Display tool could offer a meaningful everyday improvement.

How it works

Based on Samsung’s teaser video, Privacy Display appears to block visibility of the screen when viewed from side angles — making it difficult for people nearby to see what you’re doing.

In the teaser, the feature is demonstrated on a train, where a user activates a toggle to prevent others from viewing content unless they’re looking directly at the screen.

Samsung says the feature will be unveiled on February 25, the expected launch date of the Galaxy S26 series. However, leaks so far suggest Privacy Display may be exclusive to the Ultra model.

More than just a simple toggle

Beyond simply blacking out the screen, leaked screenshots shared by tech tipster Tarun Vats suggest Privacy Display may be highly customizable.

The images show possible options including:

  • Automatic activation when using sensitive apps
  • Auto-enable in crowded places
  • Dimming the screen for extra discretion
  • Hiding lock screen details
  • Blocking notifications and images
  • Concealing picture-in-picture content

If accurate, these controls could make Privacy Display more than a gimmick — offering situational privacy tailored to user needs.

That said, the leaked screenshots contain noticeable typos and inconsistent naming, raising questions about their authenticity. They may represent an early software build — or could be unofficial mockups.

With Samsung expected to announce the Galaxy S26 lineup in about a week, clarity on Privacy Display’s full capabilities should arrive soon.
