The Kebbi State Government has urged residents to give President Bola Tinubu a warm and rousing reception during his upcoming state visit on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
The President is scheduled to commission several major, people-oriented projects executed by Governor Nasir Idris’ administration and attend the opening of the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival, one of Nigeria’s premier cultural events, which begins today.
In a statement, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed, via Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, appealed to residents for cooperation and hospitality toward both national and international visitors.
Projects to be commissioned by President Tinubu include: Bola Ahmed Tinubu State Secretariat Complex, Birnin Kebbi Central Motor Park, New township road networks, Argungu dual carriageway
Ahmed noted that some roads within Birnin Kebbi and parts of Argungu would be temporarily closed to facilitate presidential movement, in line with security protocols, urging motorists and commuters to bear with the brief inconvenience.
With international guests attending the festival, the commissioner emphasised that residents’ conduct would influence global perceptions of Kebbi State. He called on citizens to remain law-abiding, peaceful, welcoming, and courteous throughout the visit and festival activities.
