The President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), Dr. Badaki Aliyu, has paid courtesy visits to the management of leading international hotel brands in Lagos, including Sheraton Hotel Lagos, Marriott Hotel Lagos, and Radisson Blu Victoria Island, to seek collaboration ahead of the 2026 Nigeria Tourism Investors Forum and Exhibition (NTIFE 2026).
During the visits, FTAN emphasised the importance of international hotel brands operating in Nigeria working closely with the private sector through its umbrella body to grow and strengthen the country’s hospitality and tourism industry.
Speaking with hotel management teams, Dr. Badaki highlighted the need for strategic partnerships in areas such as capacity building, training, and active participation in FTAN programmes. He urged hotel operators to partner with the Federation to make NTIFE 2026 bigger and more impactful through their support and involvement.
According to him, collaboration with FTAN offers a symbiotic relationship that guarantees mutual benefits for all stakeholders involved.
Dr. Badaki disclosed that NTIFE 2026 has been scheduled for July, a move aimed at avoiding the usually crowded November calendar, when several industry-related programmes are held.
He also revealed that the 2026 NTIFE will coincide with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria.
Describing plans for the event, the FTAN president said NTIFE 2026 will be bigger and more exciting, featuring activities such as a food fair, exhibitions, and other tourism-focused showcases designed to attract investors and stakeholders.
Badaki added that the courtesy visits mark the first phase of engagement, noting that more hotel chains and related organisations will be visited in the coming weeks as part of efforts to build strong partnerships ahead of the forum.
