Nigeria international and Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been named the winner of the Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) Save of the Month award for November, earning recognition for her exceptional performance against Liverpool.
The 24-year-old, who joined Brighton ahead of the current WSL season, has rapidly become a fan favourite thanks to her command in the box, razor-sharp reflexes, and impressive consistency. Her award-winning moment came in Brighton’s hard-fought clash with Liverpool, where she produced a remarkable stop to keep her side in the game.
The standout save occurred when Nnadozie brilliantly tipped Fuka Nagano’s goal-bound strike onto the crossbar before the ball went out of play. The effort immediately drew applause from fans and went viral across WSL platforms, with analysts praising it as one of the finest goalkeeping moments of the season.
Already widely regarded as one of Africa’s best goalkeepers, Nnadozie continues to elevate her profile in England’s top flight, delivering composed and confident performances for Brighton.
Her WSL honour further highlights the growing impact of Nigerian women footballers abroad. As the Super Falcons’ first-choice goalkeeper, Nnadozie has gained global recognition for her penalty-saving heroics, leadership, and reliability on the international stage.
She is also the reigning CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year (2025), cementing her status as one of the continent’s brightest talents.
