The Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannah Musa Musawa, has renewed her call for deeper collaboration with private-sector players as Nigeria intensifies efforts to become a leading global destination for tourism, investment, and creative enterprise.
Speaking at the 8th Nigeria Tourism Investors Forum and Exhibition (NTIF) 2025, organized by the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) in Abuja, Musawa emphasized that the forum is “not just a platform bringing people together to create Nigeria’s cultural wealth, but to invite you to join us in transforming that wealth into lasting economic growth and global impact.”
She noted that the establishment of the new ministry signals a decisive shift in national priorities. According to her, “we are signalling a renewed commitment to position culture, tourism and creative industries as central pillars of our national development. Under this vision, our sector aims to contribute 100 billion US dollars by 2030 and generate over two million jobs for the youths.”
Musawa highlighted ongoing reforms to fix long-standing infrastructure and policy gaps in the sector. She disclosed that several frameworks and materials have already been put in place to support sustainable growth.
Calling on investors to take advantage of Nigeria’s diverse cultural and creative assets, the minister stated:
“Today, I extend a call to you all, investors, stakeholders, and partners. Invest in Nigeria’s heritage, creativity and natural beauty. Partner with us in building world-class cultural hubs, heritage sites, resorts, creative cities, entertainment infrastructure, and more.”
She added, “Collaborate with us to nurture talents, promote our heritage globally, and create opportunities for millions.”
Musawa also revealed that the ministry is actively signing Memoranda of Understanding with states and corporate bodies as part of the Presidential directive to expand Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
Encouraging operators to remain engaged, she charged them to work closely with the ministry:
“I urge you to engage with the Ministry to see what we are doing and how you too can add value to it. Together we can transform Nigeria into a global destination hub where culture meets commerce, tradition meets innovation, and where our diversity becomes a source of pride, unity, and prosperity.”
