Real Madrid’s Courtois Out Against Olympiacos Due to Stomach Bug

Andriy Lunin to start as Madrid seek turnaround after three winless matches.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will miss Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Olympiacos due to a stomach bug, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

The Belgian shot-stopper has been diagnosed with viral gastroenteritis, Madrid stated ahead of the Group Stage encounter in Athens.

Backup goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is expected to start in goal for the 15-time European champions, who currently sit seventh in their group table.

The club is seeking to end a poor run of form, having failed to secure a victory in their last three matches across all competitions, including a 1-0 loss to Liverpool in their previous Champions League fixture.
