Murtala Muhammed Airport Two (MMA2), operated by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), has received double honors at the CHINET Awards and the 21st AKWAABA African Travel Market.
The terminal was named Best Cargo Airport in Nigeria, while the Acting Chief Operating Officer of BASL, Remi Jibodu, was listed among the Top 50 Air Cargo Personalities in Nigeria.
CHINET, West Africa’s only international aviation cargo event, has become a key platform for advancing Africa’s air cargo business. Jibodu’s award recognizes his leadership and contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s cargo industry.
Speaking after receiving the award, Jibodu said:
“The air cargo sector faces challenges such as weak digital presence, fragmented processes, low awareness, and limited dedicated freighter capacity. To unlock its full potential, we must invest in robust digital platforms that integrate the logistics ecosystem end-to-end, incentivize fleet and capacity development through innovative financing models, and adopt a collaborative P3 approach. Only then can we deliver the speed, transparency, and reliability the market demands.”
Head of Corporate Communications at BASL, Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, also described the awards as a testament to MMA2’s culture of continuous improvement.
“This recognition is another reminder that excellence is a journey, not a destination. At MMA2, we have consistently raised the bar in creating seamless passenger experience, and we are extending the same culture of improvement to our cargo operations. Beyond serving passengers, we are committed to building infrastructure that supports trade, strengthens logistics, and contributes to Nigeria’s economic growth,” she said.
These latest honors reinforce MMA2’s reputation as a pioneer in Nigerian aviation, with its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and service excellence.
