President Bola Tinubu on Thursday in Abuja reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a stable, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria, insisting that ongoing reforms are designed to improve the welfare of citizens and expand economic participation.
Speaking at the Presidential Villa while receiving a delegation of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors led by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, the President said his government is steadily replacing long-standing economic and political structures that have hindered national prosperity.
He stressed that the reforms are aimed at ensuring inclusive growth and creating opportunities for vulnerable Nigerians, noting that “the well-being of Nigerians remains the top priority” of his administration.
Vice President Kashim Shettima and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, attended the meeting alongside several state governors and political leaders from across the country.
Governors present included Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Mohammed Inuwa (Gombe), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Usman Ododo (Kogi), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), and Uba Sani (Kaduna), among others. Former governors such as Aminu Bello Masari, Ifeanyi Okowa, and Tanko Al-Makura also attended.
Tinubu urged the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to intensify grassroots mobilisation and sensitisation on government reforms, saying citizens must actively participate in shaping Nigeria’s future.
“You represent the conscience of a nation that wants to break the shackles of poverty and hopelessness,” he said, encouraging continued public engagement.
The President also emphasised his commitment to democratic principles, including the rule of law and judicial independence, stating that his administration would respect court orders regardless of outcome.
“We cannot submit to disobedience of a lawful order of the court,” Tinubu said, adding that national unity and institutional respect are central to his vision of governance.
He urged Nigerians not to be discouraged by opposition criticism, insisting that his administration remains focused on delivering long-term reforms and development projects.
Earlier, Governor Hope Uzodimma, who also serves as Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, said the group had made progress in grassroots mobilisation across the country, including data gathering and political sensitisation at ward and polling unit levels.
Former Governor Aminu Bello Masari praised the administration’s reform agenda, particularly fuel subsidy removal and foreign exchange reforms, describing them as difficult but necessary steps for national recovery.
The meeting also featured goodwill messages from APC leaders and other political stakeholders who commended the administration’s infrastructure drive and policy direction.
