The Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, paid a visit to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, where he expressed his belief that former Governor Bola Tinubu’s presidency was ordained by God.
During the visit on Sunday at the Lagos House, Marina, the first-class monarch emphasized the importance of unity among Nigerians.
According to a release by the Lagos State government, the monarch noted that the “victory” of Tinubu in the 2023 presidential poll and his emergence as the president showed God ordained him to rule the country, hence the need for all Nigerians to support him.
The traditional ruler’s visit to Lagos aimed to foster peaceful coexistence and underscored the significance of collective support for the administration. He urged all Nigerians to contribute to the nation’s progress and live in harmony.
Governor Sanwo-Olu conveyed the greetings of Bola Tinubu to the Oba of Benin and expressed gratitude for the monarch’s fatherly role, prayers, and best wishes for the government. Sanwo-Olu assured the traditional ruler that the government would work diligently to deliver tangible dividends of democracy, reducing poverty and ushering in a new era of social-economic development.
