Casemiro has confirmed he will not renew his contract with Manchester United, signalling the end of his stint at the club.
The midfielder made the announcement during an interview with ESPN Brasil on Tuesday, stating that he plans to leave at the end of the current season.
“I don’t think so. It’s clear that I’ll make my decision at the end of the season. There are no chances,” Casemiro said, ruling out any contract extension.
The former Real Madrid star reflected on his time at Old Trafford with appreciation, describing it as a fulfilling chapter in his career.
“They were four beautiful, wonderful years, and I’m eternally grateful, not just to the club, but to the fans,” he said.
Casemiro emphasised his desire to depart on a positive note, highlighting his intention to leave at a high point.
“I want to leave through the front door. The cycle at Manchester United has ended. I’m heading into a new cycle in my career,” he added.
While the Brazilian midfielder has not yet revealed his next destination, he reiterated his strong connection to the club and its supporters.
“I’ll be an eternal Manchester United fan here in England. I can only thank everyone for all the affection,” he said.
Casemiro’s departure will mark the end of a significant chapter for both player and club, as Manchester United prepares to reshape its squad ahead of the next season.
