The Nigeria Association of Tour Operators (NATOP) has inaugurated its Ibadan chapter in a landmark event held on May 21, 2026, marking the first chapter inauguration in the history of the association.

The development was led by NATOP President Hajia Bolaji Mustapha alongside the Vice President of the South West Zone, Mr. Anago Osho, and is being described as a major step in expanding the association’s presence across Nigeria’s tourism landscape.

According to Mr. Osho, the milestone reflects years of coordination and strategic engagement aimed at strengthening the association’s regional structure and improving tourism development across the South West.

He expressed appreciation to the national leadership for its support, particularly acknowledging the role of Hajia Bolaji Mustapha in driving the expansion initiative.

“This success would not have been possible without the encouragement, cooperation, and unwavering support of the National President, Hajia Bolaji Mustapha. I thank her for her visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to the growth of NATOP,” he said.

He also recognised several stakeholders who contributed to the successful inauguration, including Dr. Tunji Akib, Welfare Director of NATOP South West Zone, and Mrs. Doris Godson, Lagos State Coordinator, for their roles in the planning and execution of the event.

Special appreciation was extended to Mr. Ayo of Flyzone Tourism for his contributions, as well as to Mrs. Tobiloba Bamisaye, Membership Secretary for the South West Zone, Alhaja Taiwo Mufuliat Omokunmi, and Michael Balogun for their support.

Mr. Osho further commended Mahogany Hotel and Suites in Jericho, Ibadan, for hosting the historic occasion, describing the venue as instrumental to the success of the event.

The inauguration is expected to strengthen coordination among tour operators in the region, improve professional networking, and support the growth of Nigeria’s tourism sector through increased collaboration and structured engagement.
