RevolutionPlus Property Development Company Limited has dismissed what it described as “coordinated false narratives and malicious social media campaigns” targeting its Flourish Apartments & Terraces project located on Orchid Road in Lekki, Lagos.

In a statement signed by its Chief Executive Officer, Bamidele Onalaja, the company said recent publications and online reports misrepresented the status of the development and the conduct of the firm.

The company acknowledged that some subscribers had raised concerns over project timelines and additional financial contributions but said such issues were being driven largely by Nigeria’s harsh economic environment.

According to the statement, inflation, foreign exchange instability and rising construction costs have significantly affected project delivery across the real estate sector since 2020.

RevolutionPlus said over 70 per cent of subscribers on the Flourish Apartments project remain cooperative and understand the economic challenges affecting ongoing construction.

It added that many investors had agreed to make additional payments to bridge funding gaps and support project completion.

However, the company claimed that a small number of subscribers—estimated between eight and 13 individuals—have refused to comply with revised payment arrangements while continuing to make allegations against the firm.

It further alleged that some of the individuals defaulted on their obligations and failed to honour undertakings previously made under arrangements supervised by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

RevolutionPlus said these agreements were intended to ensure the continuation of the project amid changing economic realities.

The firm maintained that it cannot allocate or hand over units that have not been fully paid for under the revised framework agreed with subscribers.

It also rejected claims that its leadership had absconded or left the country, describing such reports as false and misleading.

The company said its chairman remains fully present in Nigeria and actively oversees operations and project execution in Lagos.

RevolutionPlus added that law enforcement agencies have visited the project site on multiple occasions and acknowledged the scale and legitimacy of the development.

It said officials who inspected the site commended the progress made and urged subscribers to remain patient as construction continues.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to delivering the project, resolving disputes through lawful means, and maintaining transparency with genuine subscribers.

It also stated that its legal team is reviewing what it called defamatory publications and coordinated misinformation campaigns, and that it may pursue legal action where necessary.

The dispute highlights ongoing tensions within Nigeria’s real estate sector, where developers and subscribers often clash over delayed delivery timelines, currency fluctuations and rising construction costs.
