Casemiro has spoken about the emotions he expects to experience as he prepares for what could be his final appearance for Manchester United, admitting it may be difficult to hold everything in on his last day at the club.
The Brazilian midfielder said the reality of leaving is already beginning to sink in, particularly after witnessing how the situation has affected his family.
According to a post obtained from the club’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Casemiro revealed that his wife became emotional when fans urged him to remain at the club for another year.
The reaction, he said, made the moment feel even more real as he prepares to part ways with the English club.
“I am hoping not to cry on my last day. My wife already cried, when the fans were asking for one more year,” Casemiro said.
“So, I just want to enjoy all the moments and I will be a United fan for the rest of my life.”
Casemiro is expected to leave Manchester United at the end of the season following the expiration of his contract with the club.
Reports by BBC Sport indicate that Manchester United have no plans to reverse their decision to release the experienced midfielder once his current deal runs out.
The development could mark the end of Casemiro’s time at Old Trafford after several seasons with the club, during which he played a key role in the team’s midfield.
