Three Moroccan ministries – Industry and Trade, Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, and Digital Transition and Administrative Reform – signed a partnership agreement with French insurance group AXA on Monday in Rabat to enhance national capacity in data, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies.

The agreement provides for the rollout of initial and continuing education programs, development of work-study tracks, and support for R&D projects linked to digital transformation. It aims to anticipate demand for skilled professionals in areas such as cybersecurity, cloud computing, DevOps, and software testing while aligning training programs with labor market needs.

Universities and public higher education institutions will collaborate with schools under the Ministry of Industry and Trade to strengthen academia-industry ties. The partnership also includes internships, industry placements, and initiatives to facilitate young graduates’ entry into Morocco’s technology sector.

This initiative forms part of Morocco’s Digital Transformation Strategy 2030, which emphasizes human capital as a driver of economic competitiveness. Morocco aims to train 100,000 young people annually in digital skills and create 240,000 technology sector jobs by 2030 to meet rising demand for specialist talent.

The Ministry of Digital Transition said the partnership will help build a national ecosystem capable of adapting to technological change, supporting digital sovereignty, and positioning Morocco as a regional hub for technology professions.
