President Tinubu Condoles with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie on Son’s Death

President expresses deep sympathy, describes loss of a child as the most devastating grief

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent a heartfelt message of condolence to renowned Nigerian author, Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, following the death of her son, Nkanu Nnamdi.

In a statement, the President extended his sympathies to Ms Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family, describing the loss as deeply painful and heartbreaking.

“As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child,” President Tinubu said, noting that he shares in the family’s sorrow during this difficult time.

He expressed empathy with the bereaved family and said he mourns the sad loss alongside them.

President Tinubu also paid tribute to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, describing her as a literary icon whose works have brought joy, inspiration, and light to homes across the world.

He prayed that Ms Adichie and her family would find strength and comfort in God as they navigate the period of mourning.

“My prayers are with the family,” the President concluded.
