Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that his squad has no fresh injury concerns ahead of their Premier League match against Sunderland on Saturday.
The Gunners are hoping to extend their lead at the top of the table to nine points with a win, as they continue their impressive campaign.
“No news,” Arteta said when asked for an injury update during his pre-match press conference.
“We remain the same. There’s nobody new that can join the squad, so all the same.”
However, the Arsenal boss declined to fully confirm the availability of Kai Havertz, Martin Ødegaard, Viktor Gyökeres, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Martinelli, who have all been dealing with fitness issues in recent weeks.
“I cannot confirm all of that, but you are not far,” the Spaniard added.
Arteta expressed optimism that several of the injured players could return after the upcoming international break, though he cautioned that their recoveries depend on progress over the next two weeks.
“Some of them. All of them, I don’t know,” he explained. “There are a lot of things that have to happen in the next two weeks and everything has to be perfect. But I think we’ll be very close with most of them to being in a really strong position.”
Arsenal remain focused on maintaining their momentum in the title race, with Arteta confident that his side can sustain their form heading into a crucial phase of the season.
